Flood Watch in effect - April 25, 2024

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry – Bracebridge Minden Parry Sound District is advising area residents that a Flood Watch is in effect for the region.

This message will remain in effect until Friday May 3, 2024.

This bulletin will impact residents within the MNRF Bracebridge Minden Parry Sound District for portions of the District of Parry Sound, District of Muskoka, and City of Kawartha Lakes within the Black, Burnt, Gull, Severn, Magnetawan, and Muskoka River Watersheds.

Half-load restrictions lifted Monday, May 6

During the annual spring thaw period, the Town of Gravenhurst places ‘half-load’ or ‘reduced/seasonal load’ restrictions on most roadways. 

Effective Monday, May 6, at 12:01 a.m., half-load restrictions will be lifted. 

Truck operators are reminded that the purpose of seasonal load restrictions is to protect the road and road base from damage caused by heavy vehicle wheel loads, with the goal of increasing the life cycle of municipal roadways.
